It was mine and the great good fortune of the Charity to get involved with the folks that organise the Marathon of Britain
(www.marathonofbritain.com)
and those who run it – 175 miles in 6 days on two feet, takes some taking in.
The people that ran it are heroes in my mind for two reasons, the sheer scale of the achievement and second, despite their obvious fatigue they managed to have a great time at their gala dinner and raised a whopping £520 for Teach Africa.
In addition to that, Dan Brockhurst who was one of the competitors is in the process of sponsoring one of children through at least one year of his/her education.
Hopefully this will be the start of a fruitful mutual relationship between the MOB team and teach Africa in terms of raising the awareness of both.
